Mehrdad Jafari Raad is an Iranian-Canadian composer, performer, and media artist based in Toronto. His work spans contemporary concert music, film scoring, and electronic music, with performances and screenings at major festivals and venues in Canada and internationally.

A professional Tar and Setar player, his work draws on Iranian traditional music alongside contemporary classical and electroacoustic practices. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Composition from the University of Toronto and explores themes including identity, cultural synthesis, dreams, and memory.
